'Windrow Vest' in 'Heathered Herringbone' Wool

Sale Price:$295.00 Original Price:$410.00

The ‘Windrow Vest’ tells the story of rural New England in both form and fabric. With a silhouette that is spare & elegant, it evokes the utility of classic New England garments, such as the zippered wool vest, the Ivy sweater, and industrial sewing aprons.

Where the ‘Windrow Vest’ departs from tradition is in the details. The vest has fully open sides, which are joined together by button tab closures. These adjustable tabs make for a dynamic fit that adapts to the wearer’s body & outfit. The deep neck, the single curved pocket, and the continuous cotton trim punctuate the vest’s shape.

Completing the narrative, the cloth is 100% New England wool that’s spun in Vermont & woven in western Massachusetts on Peggy Hart’s historical looms. The sheep’s fleece is left undyed, giving the cloth its rich, heathered appearance. It’s soft and spongy wool, like a favorite blanket.

Every step of making this garment happened within 150 miles of the SP studio. It’s clothing connected to a specific place and time, and one spun directly from the lives of the people who live here.

The ‘Windrow Vest’ is Made-to-Order with an estimated production time of 2-3 weeks. Select your size after ‘Adding to Cart’.

Why the weird sizing?
Due to the adjustable fit of this garment, we’ve introduced a new sizing range, Sizes 1-3. To reduce confusion, we’ve also included the approximate men’s alpha size that best matches each numeric size. So, if you typically wear XL, we suggest purchasing a Size 3. If you are between sizes, we generally suggest sizing up. For instance, if you are between a S and M, we suggest Size 2.

If you are comparing raw measurements, you will find that these are smaller than your shirt size. That is because a shirt typically requires more extra fabric (aka ‘ease’) to allow for a better range of motion. The ‘Windrow Vest’ is intended to hug the body more closely, like a zippered or sweater vest. That said, if you are looking for a more relaxed fit, we suggest sizing up.
