The ‘Grove Shirt’ carves a path between the aesthetics of two opposing but contemporary styles of the early 1900s. Workwear details like a swallowtail collar, a curving split hem, and utilitarian chest pockets are not cut from denim or chambray, but rather crisp white bed sheets. The rigid box pleat is swapped for imperfect gathers. Delicate Mother-of-Pearl buttons instead of metal or wood.

The rural cemetery movement of the 1800s referenced “combining the geometric with the natural,” establishing park-like cemeteries in place of church graveyards. Meandering paths with mature trees wrapped around columned mausoleums, sculptures, and obelisks.

The Grove Shirt—one of the first pieces in the new Slow Process era—searches for similar harmony. Sturdy workwear with romantic roundness. A convergence of the pastoral and the practical.
