As a reaction to America’s rapid industrialization, Romanticism in the art & design of the 1800s advocated for “combining the geometric and the natural.” Meandering parks, a spiritual connection to nature, and a quest for awe and beauty emerged against the mechanical and the utilitarian. 

Our Grove Shirt searches for a similar harmony between the pastoral and the practical. We orient ourselves around workwear sensibilities with our classic shirting details and double-stitched chest pockets. A sweeping split hem, imperfect gathers, and Mother-of-Pearl buttons introduce a Romantic roundness. 

The Grove Shirt has a relaxed fit with a slight drop shoulder. We recommend your true size or sizing up for layering.

These shirts are cut from selvedge cream pinstripe shirting c. 1970s. It is lightweight with flecks of cotton seed. We believe it contains a small amount of polyester, which helps with longevity.
