As a reaction to America’s rapid industrialization, Romanticism in the art & design of the 1800s advocated for “combining the geometric and the natural.” Meandering parks, a spiritual connection to nature, and a quest for awe and beauty emerged against the mechanical and the utilitarian. 

Our Grove Shirt searches for a similar harmony between the pastoral and the practical. We orient ourselves around workwear sensibilities with our classic shirting details and double-stitched chest pockets. A sweeping split hem, imperfect gathers, and Mother-of-Pearl buttons introduce a Romantic roundness. 

The Grove Shirt has a relaxed fit with a slight drop shoulder. We recommend your true size or sizing up for layering.

This shirt is cut from brown stripe cotton seersucker c. 1960s. Its signature crinkly texture gives it a dry hand and excellent breathability.
