Windrow Vest in 'Candy Stripe Twill' New England Wool | Size 2 (M)

Windrow Vest in 'Candy Stripe Twill' New England Wool | Size 2 (M)

$395.00

The ‘Windrow Vest’ vests bring together elements of Ivy and workwear into a versatile & textural layering piece. Cut from the same soft New England wools as our shirts, they feature fully open sides, which are joined together by adjustable button tab closures. This offers a dynamic fit, adaptable to the wearer’s body & outfit.

The vest’s deep neck, the single curved pocket, and entire silhouette are bound with chocolate cotton trim for a clean finish. Each piece bears our special ‘New England wool’ project label.

The cloth is 100% New England wool that’s spun in Vermont & woven in western Massachusetts on Peggy Hart’s historical looms. The sheep’s fleece is left undyed, giving the cloth its rich, striped appearance. It’s soft and spongy wool, like a favorite blanket.

Every step of making this garment happened within 150 miles of the SP studio. It’s clothing connected to a specific place and time, and one spun directly from the lives of the people who live here.

The ‘Windrow Vest’ is Made-to-Order with an estimated production time of 2-3 weeks. Select your size after ‘Adding to Cart’.

Why the weird sizing?
Due to the adjustable fit of this garment, we’ve introduced a new sizing range, Sizes 1-3. To reduce confusion, we’ve also included the approximate men’s alpha size that best matches each numeric size. For example, if you typically wear XL, we suggest purchasing a Size 3. If you are between sizes, we generally suggest sizing up. For instance, if you are between a S and M, we recommend Size 2.

If you are comparing raw measurements, you will find that these are smaller than your shirt size. That is because a shirt typically requires more extra fabric (aka ‘ease’) to allow for a better range of motion. The ‘Windrow Vest’ is intended to hug the body more closely, like a zippered or sweater vest. That said, if you are looking for a more relaxed fit, we suggest sizing up.
