The Tam Hat evokes a wide range of images and memories--flowers, bells, hilltops, the sauna. It is unstructured and lined, easy to pack and wash. I cut & sew each one in our Kingston, NY studio from our stash of offcuts, remnants, and scraps.

This Tam Hat uses our remaining pieces of a medium-weight chambray in stripes of green, brown, yellow, red, and black. Previously used for camp curtains, it’s estimated to be from the 1960s.

Lined in brown Irish linen.
