The Tam Hat evokes a wide range of images and memories--flowers, bells, hilltops, the sauna. It is unstructured and lined, easy to pack and wash. I cut & sew each one in our Kingston, NY studio from our stash of offcuts, remnants, and scraps.

This Tam Hat uses our remaining pieces of a soft, heavyweight cotton/linen in an irregular terracotta stripe. Originally purchased from a seller based in eastern Europe, and estimated to be from the 1980s.

Lined in a rinsed ecru hemp/linen blend.
